Sian Ka'an Restoration Site by Oceanus, A.C.
LOCATION: Sian Ka’an, Quintana Roo.

Our restoration sites are located within the Sian Ka’an Reef Biosphere Reserve, located in front of the communities of:
* Punta Allen,
* Maria Elena y
* Punta Herrero.
In coordination with CONANP, Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve and Sian Ka’an Reefs, we started as the project as a response to the results of the Biological Monitoring Program (PROMOBI 2012-2018) of the protected area, later with financing of the Claudia and Roberto Hernández Foundation through The Nature Conservancy, these activities were scaled up to complement the objectives of the Kanan Kay Alliance, restoring the habitat in areas of fishing refuges in the central and southern areas of the reserve.
We have transplanted about 8,000 colonies in 5 sites, during the last monitoring carried out in 2018, we found that 70% of the colonies planted in these sites have survived reaching sizes greater than 40 cm and 50 cm.
