Our Success History
18 years of Conservation, Research, Monitoring and Restoration Activities.
Founded in 2006 by the Masters of Sciences Miguel García and Gabriela Nava, its mission is to develop and apply the necessary techniques and actions that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources.
Our Main Donors

Inspiring Changes for a Better World

In 30 years
we could restore the health of the ocean, if we achieve the recovery of the main coastal ecosystems,
like Coral Reefs.

Here we begin our first studies and tests of the restoration techniques of Oceanus, A.C. (2007-2008) with the aim of recovering sites impacted by groundings. It was on this site that we designed the first version of the Reef Restoration Program (2009), which was a pioneer in showing the importance of initiating active restoration actions on a constant basis.

We started with funding from the Summit Foundation and MAR Fund, with the goal of creating local groups that could multiply restoration efforts. Activities have started and the first colonies have been planted to evaluate the susceptibility of carrying out a long-term project (1000 colonies)...

The MARRS (Mars Assisted Reef Restoration System) model is a technique developed by Mars Sustainable Solutions in Indonesia for the restoration of reef areas damaged by physical impacts. Thanks to the exchange of experiences carried out in 2018 with that institution, the collaboration began to be tested and adapted by personnel from Oceanus, A.C. in the habitat north of the Arrecifes de Xcalak NP.
